Our History and Our Identity:
JnJ Cafe is still your Juice N’ Java
Think about the rich aroma of fresh brewed coffee. Now close your eyes and focus on that delightful, enticing smell. Doesn’t it bring a smile to your face? There is just something so homey and relaxing about that scent. Combine that aroma with a warm and inviting atmosphere surrounded by friends and neighbors and you have the perfect setting—Juice N Java Café in Cocoa Beach.
For well over a decade, Juice N Java Café has been a staple in the heart of Cocoa Beach energizing folks each morning with a steaming cup of coffee, satisfying an errant sweet tooth with delectable treats, or curbing gnawing hunger with a delicious hot breakfast or lunch. Jenny Pruett spent the last nearly 13 years creating this incredible spot for locals and visitors alike, but to all things there is a season, and recently Jenny decided that her full-time calling was to invest her time in her organization I am a Freedom Fighter. This meant that she needed to find someone special to adopt Juice N Java Café as their own. Change is after all inevitable, but the positive consequences of change are truly awesome.
So, without further ado, we would like to introduce the proud, new owners of Juice N Java Café—Nick and Molly Pastermack and their partners Austin and Val Sanchez. Nick is a third-generation entrepreneur in Cocoa Beach. His grandfather, a Navy “frogman” during WWII, opened the Cocoa Beach Ace Hardware which is still in their family today.
A very gracious couple from the first time you meet them, Nick and Molly are quick to explain they do not want to change the feel of Juice N Java Café. Molly was adamant, “Yes, there will be a few changes, but the goal is to keep the spirit of what the Pruett’s invested into the community the same.”
In discussing their future plans, Nick and Molly explained their approach to business is to treat their employees like family. Which leads to the introduction of the other half of the partnership, two additional new faces you will certainly be seeing in the café—Austin Sanchez and his wife, Val. At the United States Naval Academy, Austin was Pastermack’s “sponsor midshipman” turned friend, turned business partner.
Austin is a veteran Marine Corp officer who worked for Nick and Molly at some of their other endeavors. During this time, the Pastermacks realized that they had found a gem in Austin. When the opportunity to purchase Juice N Java Café presented itself, the Pastermacks reached out to Austin, and his new wife Val, to see if they would be interested in partnering with them on the day-to-day managing of the café.
You see, in August of 2021 Austin married his beautiful bride Val, who hails from the Philippines, here on Cocoa Beach. So, their hearts were already rooted right here. It was an easy sell to get them on board!
Speaking of employees that are like family, Nick was quick to say, “We are so appreciative of the amazing staff we inherited; they are what makes Juice N Java so special.”
As a quick side note, it seems the most asked question from patrons has been if there are plans to bring back Juice N Java’s nighttime openings. Nick and Molly are optimistic that “once we get our feet on the ground and through the season, we hope to see Juice N Java be an all-day place of gathering.”
Nick, Molly, Austin and Val have asked for everyone to drop in to introduce yourselves and say hello. They are looking forward to getting to know all of you!
Juice N Java Café—it’s more than just a coffee shop. It’s truly a place to gather with friends for good coffee, delicious food & endless fun.
